Sharif Abdelnour brings over two decades of leadership experience across investment banking, agribusiness, petrochemicals, and logistics to his role as CEO of GB Capital. A Harvard Business School MBA graduate and former Goldman Sachs investment banker, Sharif has consistently driven large-scale growth and operational excellence across both early stage and mature businesses.
Before joining GB Capital, Sharif was the CEO of Nile Union Meat Company, where he built a vertically integrated platform for red meat imports and distribution between Sudan, Egypt, and the GCC. He successfully led cross-border operations, secured major funding rounds, and established strong relationships with regulatory bodies and distribution networks. Earlier, as CEO of Agility Egypt, he launched the company’s operations from the ground up, establishing a state-of-the-art logistics center and developing one of the country’s leading 3PL platforms.
Sharif’s early career included pivotal roles at Innovene (previously BP Petrochemicals) and Goldman Sachs in London, where he focused on petrochemical investment strategy and cross-border M&A advisory, respectively. He holds a BA in Economics from Duke University and also studied at the Sorbonne in Paris.
Known for his strategic vision and ability to execute in complex environments, Sharif now leads GB Capital’s mission to innovate and expand its footprint in the non-bank financial services sector.
